Community support and aftercare are essential for continued care and lifelong management of your recovery, and we’re proud to offer a range of aftercare options at Agape Behavioral Center. After completing your mental health stabilization, you’ll be invited to take part in our partial hospitalization, outpatient, and alumni programs. These programs are designed to provide ongoing guidance as you transition back to your daily life, ensuring that the progress you’ve made during treatment is sustained.
Whether you need structured support through outpatient care or want to stay connected with peers in our immersive alumni program, we offer a variety of pathways to help you maintain long-term wellness. Our goal is to keep you connected to the resources and community that have been key to your recovery, giving you the support you need to thrive in every aspect of your life.
Aftercare is a critical part of the recovery process that provides ongoing support and guidance once the initial phase of mental health treatment has been completed. It ensures that individuals continue to receive the care they need to maintain their progress, prevent relapse, and develop stronger coping mechanisms. It can promote better treatment outcomes for conditions like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and more.
Aftercare services can take many forms, including individual therapy, group counseling, outpatient programs, support groups, and regular check-ins with mental health professionals. These resources help clients navigate challenges they may face as they transition back to their daily routines, reinforcing the strategies learned during treatment.
Types of aftercare may include:
The goal of aftercare is to provide a safety net that promotes long-term stability, emotional wellness, and a sense of community. With consistent support, individuals are better equipped to handle stress, triggers, and any setbacks that might occur.
After completing mental health treatment, many individuals face a new set of challenges as they transition back into their everyday lives.
Without the structured environment of treatment, the stress of daily routines, relationships, and work can feel overwhelming. Triggers and emotional setbacks may come up, making it difficult to maintain the progress they’ve worked so hard to achieve during treatment. However, aftercare offers continued support during this often challenging period, helping individuals stay connected to resources like therapy, support groups, or outpatient programs.
Aftercare provides a safety net for those navigating the ups and downs of recovery, ensuring they don’t face these struggles alone. Through regular check-ins, coping strategies are reinforced, and new challenges can be addressed in real-time.
Aftercare also offers a sense of community. Staying engaged with professionals and peers creates a network of support that can prevent relapse and foster long-term mental health. This can help individuals adjust to their new lifestyles outside the walls of a treatment facility while navigating issues with continued support.
At Agape Behavioral Center, we understand that recovery from mental health challenges is an ongoing process, not just a one-time treatment. If your addiction problem seems severe, the right call would be for you to commit to an inpatient treatment program. An inpatient treatment program would give you access to multiple therapists, which is a benefit to you.
As part of inpatient treatment, you would also get access to all available treatment options. That would include group therapy programs. Group therapy is a wonderful treatment tool. This is because, within the addiction treatment community, there’s a sense that clients can benefit by helping each other.
Another major benefit of inpatient treatment is the fact that while attending an inpatient treatment program, you would have little to no access to drugs/alcohol or improper influences. This fact would diminish the chances of you relapsing while in treatment. As a result of no adverse influences, you would also get to focus on therapy without interference from outside sources.
During partial hospitalization program treatment, you would get the same level of care in terms of therapy as you would in inpatient treatment. You would also get access to quality treatment professionals who can help you with a wide range of treatment options.
The major difference between inpatient and partial hospitalization program treatment has to do with your level of responsibility. With inpatient treatment, a lot of decision-making options are gone. A partial hospitalization program, on the other hand, is a great alternative if you can control your impulses, make good decisions, and avoid relapsing.
If a drug rehab in South Florida offers outpatient care, they very likely offer all three options:
When attending all three outpatient care options, you would go through the therapeutic process with assigned therapists. While technically living at home, you would have scheduled appointments during the week. To remain in good standing, you would have to follow certain rules, including:
These rules are all common among the three outpatient options. However, there are differences between the three that are worthy of discussion.
The least restrictive outpatient care option is general outpatient treatment. The time required to attend genernal outpatient treatment would be limited to a couple of days a week for a couple of hours at a time.
While the partial hospitalization program option focuses heavily on therapy and developing coping skills, the general outpatient option is more geared towards recovery maintenance. Therefore, regular outpatient treatment would be the right option for you if you’ve successfully cleared higher levels of treatment and just need additional counseling.
With this comparison, we get closer to comparing apples to apples. There is a significant time requirement difference between the two, though. If you chose the intensive outpatient program option, you would need to report for treatment three to five days a week and plan on spending four to six hours of each of those days in therapy. That’s less time in treatment than the partial hospitalization program that we mentioned above required.
There is another difference between partial hospitalization program treatment and intensive outpatient program treatment. With less time to devote to treatment in general, individual therapy would get a larger piece of the pie while in a partial hospitalization program. This means getting less time to devote to groups, families, and outside activities.
