Comprehensive Care for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
Personalized treatment that recognizes the full story, not just the symptoms.
Mental health conditions can affect every area of your life. And they can happen to anyone. The people who come to Agape Behavioral Health are not a list of diagnoses to be managed. They are complex individuals, with unique histories, strengths, and circumstances.
Agape’s treatment programs provide comprehensive treatment for a broad array of mental health concerns, including co-occurring substance use disorders, while recognizing that effective care does not begin with a protocol but rather with a true attempt to understand who you are and what you really need.
Regardless of the complexity of what you are experiencing, whether you have a known diagnosis or are still seeking answers, supportive, evidence-based services are available at Agape Behavioral Health.
Finding Your Path Forward With Agape
Mental health disorders are as varied as the people who live with them. Two people can have the exact same diagnosis, but have developed it due to entirely different experiences, carry it in totally different ways, and require entirely different interventions to heal. At Agape, providing customized treatment is not a theoretical concept; it is how we operate day-to-day. Every client receives a thorough clinical assessment, an individually tailored treatment plan, and a dedicated clinical team that continuously adjusts their delivery of care based on each patient’s history and progress.
Treating the Whole Person
Mental health and substance use are deeply interconnected.[1] Many people who struggle with psychiatric disorders use substances as a means of managing untreated symptoms. Many people recovering from substance use also find that underlying mental health difficulties have been driving their use all along. Treating one condition without treating the other will only produce incomplete outcomes.[2]
This is why, at Agape, we treat both concurrently, using an integrated care model that addresses the full picture of each client’s well-being. This integrated approach is not merely a practical method for conducting simultaneous assessments. It is reflective of our belief that the only way for sustainable recovery to happen is if the whole person is treated — mind, body, and spirit.
Healing From Co-Occurring Addiction
Addiction does not typically develop in a vacuum. Most people dealing with addiction have been coping with emotional, psychological, or situational pain without the right support. At Agape, our approach to treating substance abuse is no different than when we treat any other mental health issue: non-judgmentally, without shame, and with complete empathy that every person’s relationship with substances has a unique story behind it.
Our co-occurring disorder program treats both the addiction and the underlying mental health issue as part of a comprehensive plan tailored to meet the needs of each client
How We Treat at Agape Behavioral Health
Understanding where a patient stands is just one piece of the puzzle. How that patient receives treatment is of equal, if not greater, importance.
At Agape, treatment is built around three commitments that shape everything we do.
01
Personalization
The first is personalization. Every patient at Agape has a clinical evaluation completed at admission. Each patient’s treatment plan is developed based on the information gathered from that clinical evaluation — not from some standard format applied to all.
02
Integration
The second is integration. Our team consists of a multidisciplinary group of clinicians including licensed therapists, psychiatrists, and support staff who communicate regularly with each other regarding each patient’s progress. This communication provides assurance that every aspect of each patient’s care is integrated into their overall treatment plan.
03
Compassion
The third is compassion. There are two elements required to promote successful recovery. One element includes providing evidence-based treatment for a patient’s condition using clinically effective methods. The second is creating a safe environment that allows patients to feel comfortable enough to engage in the vulnerable aspects of their own recovery process. Our team strives to provide both.
Agape offers a complete continuum of care and uses several forms of evidence-based therapy, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma-informed approaches, and holistic modalities. Regardless of the stage of care a patient finds themselves in, Agape’s programs are designed to meet them where they are.
You Do Not Have to Figure This Out Alone
Regardless of whether you’re coming to treatment for the first time or returning after an especially difficult period, the staff at Agape Behavioral Health will be there to help. The admissions staff are caring, have answers to your questions, and can walk you through your options.
Recovery is possible, and it begins with one conversation. Contact us today or visit our website. We are here to help.
